Live activities

We have a wide range of projects on the go at any one time, each helping us meet our vision of creating a sustainable future free from fuel poverty. On this page you can take a look through everything we currently have going on.

Projects

Advice Line

Severn Wye's dedicated advice line has been providing free, local and impartial home energy advice across the south west of England.

ASSIST 2gether

The ASSIST project is an EU Horizon 2020 funded project which operates on two levels: it will use volunteers to support consumers, particularly those who are vulnerable to fuel poverty, to actively engage in the energy market and also improve energy efficiency behaviors; and will aim to influence policy and activity at all levels.

Biogas Action

Biogas Action aims to develop on-farm use of anaerobic digestion to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create energy and reduce waste.

Biomethane Regions

Biomethane Regions finished in March 2014. The main aim of the project was to facilitate an increase in the number of Anaerobic Digestion plants in biogas/biomethane production across the EU, but in partner regions in particular.

Build to Low Carbon (Build2LC)

Build to Low Carbon is promoting efficient and effective retrofit in order to improve domestic properties in Gloucestershire, improving health and reducing carbon emissions across the county. At the heart of the project is an ambitious Action Plan, aiming to take bold steps that can act as a model for other areas, and inform local and national policies.

Combine

The Combine project investigated the feasibility of turning waste plant material, such as rushes, gorse, bracken, grasses and roadside verge arisings, into fuel briquettes of a quality similar to woodchip.

Cynefin

Cynefin is a programme that explores new approaches for delivery of long-term changes and improvements to the quality of life and wellbeing of communities across Wales.

Gloucestershire Target 2020

Gloucestershire Target 2020 is funded through the European Regional Development Fund. The project offers up to 5 days energy efficiency consultancy to 200 small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Gloucestershire. The grants will contribute 35% towards energy saving measures and could be worth anything from £500 to £50,000.

Link to Energy

Link to Energy is a network of over 100 installers and suppliers that are able to provide all things energy efficient to householders, small businesses and community groups in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

Our Future’s People

Our Future’s People is a sustainable energy project for secondary schools. It brings together two or our most successful projects; ‘Young Energy People’ and ‘Your Green Future’, both of which have won prestigious awards for their contribution to sustainability education.

Re-Direct

Re-Direct is investigating the feasibility of converting unused biomass resources into carbon products.

Warm and Well

Warm and Well provides energy saving advice to homeowners and private renting tenants. It focuses on how to improve the energy efficiency of properties, and help householders reduce their energy bills.

WeatherEnergy

Unlike your average weather forecast, the WeatherEnergy project translates our everyday weather conditions into potential renewable energy, providing information on how much energy the average household solar PV and solar thermal installation might have provided the average family the previous day. It also provides information on the number of homes that could potentially have been provided with electricity from the UK’s operating wind turbines.

Your Green Future

Your Green Future is an interactive event which engages school students with a low carbon economy, and their potential role in creating this through their career choices.
