Adviceline Support Officer - Severn Wye Energy Agency Ltd

If you are good at talking to people and would enjoy helping people with advice over the phone, then we have just the job for you.

Severn Wye are looking to recruit a friendly, personable Adviceline Support Officer to join our home energy advice team based in beautiful Highnam, just outside Gloucester.

At Warm and Well, we have a team of dedicated energy efficiency champions, who love to find ways to improve people’s lives by helping them use less energy, live more sustainably, and be warm, healthy and comfortable in their own homes. This is an advice line service with real purpose and local impact.

As an Adviceline Support Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for many people on our freephone advice line, so this role will be ideal for you if you enjoy connecting over the phone. Many of our callers are vulnerable or suffering hardship, so our advice line staff need to put them at ease quickly, giving them confidence that we’re able to help them solve their challenges and improve their lives. This is a caring, listening role for someone able to treat each caller as an individual.

The pace of change in the energy, climate change and low carbon sectors is rapid, and keeping up with the latest initiatives, innovations and opportunities will be part and parcel of working with Severn Wye. The Government’s Green Homes Grant scheme will draw many people to the advice line in the coming months, and opportunities such as this change frequently.

We are able to offer this role with a variety of flexible hours. Part-time, full-time, flexible hours and evening or weekend work will be considered. In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer a competitive salary, all the training you will need to offer home energy advice and a company pension scheme. This role is ideal for someone interested in being involved in the energy transition and growing a practical knowledge of sustainable energy issues.

If you are interested in applying, please send a CV with a covering letter outlining why you are interested in this position and how you satisfy the requirements in the Job Description to recruitment(at)severnwye.org.uk. We will be interviewing each week until the position is filled.
