Project Profile

Designed to help the public sector to reduce the energy consumption and thus the carbon emissions of their own buildings, the save@work project supports the creation of energy teams for each participating building, helping them to take control of the energy consumption of their office and use behavioural change techniques to encourage and support their colleagues to drive consumption down.

Nearly 40% of final energy consumption can be attributed to buildings - office buildings are a huge consumer of energy!

The competition to see which building can make the greatest energy savings starts in March 2016 and will last for a year. Though recruitment is still taking place, participating organisations currently include the Land Registry, Stroud District Council, Gloucester City Council and Ceredigion Council.
