Projects

Advice Line

Severn Wye's dedicated advice line has been providing free, local and impartial home energy advice across the south west of England.

Biogas Action

Biogas Action aims to develop on-farm use of anaerobic digestion to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create energy and reduce waste.

Biomethane Regions

Biomethane Regions finished in March 2014. The main aim of the project was to facilitate an increase in the number of Anaerobic Digestion plants in biogas/biomethane production across the EU, but in partner regions in particular.

Boosting Urban Mobility Plans (BUMP)

The BUMP project supports Local Authorities across 9 EU countries to develop Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) for their areas.

Build to Low Carbon

Build to Low Carbon will add value and strengthen collaboration between public, private and third sector for achievement of aims in relation to the alleviation of fuel poverty. Its activity will demonstrate results and feed into ambitions to influence local and national policies influencing this issue for the future.

Cheltenham Green Doors

Cheltenham Green Doors is a collection of like-minded people that have come together to promote a more sustainable approach to everyday living. Case Studies of homes that have made some of these improvements provide an example of this.

Combine

The Combine project investigates the feasibility of turning waste plant material, such as rushes, gorse, bracken, grasses and roadside verge arisings, into fuel briquettes of a quality similar to woodchip.

Cynefin

Cynefin is a programme that explores new approaches for delivery of long-term changes and improvements to the quality of life and wellbeing of communities across Wales.

DECC Central Heating Fund

Severn Wye is supporting local authorities in Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire target vulnerable people without central heating systems.

Energy Detectives

Energy Detectives is a whole-school sustainable energy project for primary schools. The project raises awareness of issues relating to energy and climate change whilst developing self-confidence and empowering pupils to contribute to decision-making processes within their schools and local communities.

Gloucestershire Environmental Education Partnership

We chair the Gloucestershire Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP), which is a group of organisations offering support to schools and other educational groups in the field of sustainability education.

Home Energy Loans

In partnership with South Gloucestershire Council, Severn Wye has set up a loan scheme for homeowners who want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Link to Energy

Link to Energy is a network of over 100 installers and suppliers that are able to provide all things energy efficient to householders, small businesses and community groups in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

Our Future’s People

Our Future’s People is a sustainable energy project for secondary schools. It brings together two or our most successful projects; ‘Young Energy People’ and ‘Your Green Future’, both of which have won prestigious awards for their contribution to sustainability education.

Prioritising Warm Welsh Homes

Prioritising Warm Welsh Homes offers a wide range of free holistic support services for people impacted by fuel poverty, and focuses on the Priority Service Register (PSR).

Resource Efficient Wales

Resource Efficient Wales is a single point of contact to help people and organisations throughout Wales to reduce their energy and water use and to reduce and re-use waste.

Save@Work

Designed to help the public sector to reduce the energy consumption and thus the carbon emissions of their own buildings, the save@work project supports the creation of energy teams for each participating building, helping them to take control of the energy consumption of their office and use behavioural change techniques to encourage and support their colleagues to drive consumption down.

Sustainable Energy Management at Schools

Sustainable Energy Management at Schools (sem@schools) is a European project being delivered in secondary schools across 5 European countries.

Warm and Well

Warm and Well provides energy saving advice to homeowners and private renting tenants. It focuses on how to improve the energy efficiency of properties, and help householders reduce their energy bills.

WeatherEnergy

Unlike your average weather forecast, the WeatherEnergy project translates our everyday weather conditions into potential renewable energy, providing information on how much energy the average household solar PV and solar thermal installation might have provided the average family the previous day. It also provides information on the number of homes that could potentially have been provided with electricity from the UK’s operating wind turbines.

Worcestershire Target 2020

Worcestershire Target 2020 is funded through the European Structural and Investment Fund. The project offers up to 5 days energy efficiency consultancy to 200 Small and Medium sized businesses (SMEs) in Worcestershire and up to 35% financial assistance to help install energy saving measures.

Your Green Future

Your Green Future is an interactive event which engages school students with a low carbon economy, and their potential role in creating this through their career choices.
