Director of Delivery and Development – Severn Wye Energy Agency Ltd

Director of Delivery and Development – Severn Wye Energy Agency Ltd

Location: Gloucestershire or Wales based with regular work in our Gloucester Office and in Cardiff

Severn Wye has created a new post of Director of Delivery and Development to work with our Chief Executive Officer to help achieve our ambitions, secure future growth and successfully achieve our strategic goals and objectives. In recruiting for this post we have been inspired to extend its scope and geography from the previously advertised Director of Energy Services in England to allow an option to be Wales based. This is being undertaken in parallel with current recruitment for our Chief Executive Officer role to allow us greater flexibility to align these positions. Therefore we have expanded the role description and deadline accordingly.

We are looking for an outstanding individual with a passion for sustainable energy, the environment and tackling poverty, with a strong track record of development, management and delivery of contracted services in the third, public and private sectors.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will have proven experience in leading successful teams, building strong partnerships, managing people and cross departmental working, demonstrating excellent communication skills at senior management, stakeholder and employee levels.

The Director of Development and Delivery will oversee the delivery of all our work based in either England or Wales. Depending on your skill set and experience, you will be allocated primary areas of responsibility for selected areas of our thematic work currently including: tackling fuel poverty, improving health and wellbeing in domestic households and communities, education, training, working with SMEs, research, consultancy, sustainable development and community engagement/regeneration. Responsible for directing senior project managers the Director of Delivery and Development will ensure all targets, KPIs and reporting requirements for contracts and funders are met.

The Director of Delivery and Development will also have an important role in leading the development of new and existing services and growing the range of funders. Working closely with our Chief Executive Officer and Heads of Finance and Marketing, you will act as the lynchpin for our office in England or Wales and will be the main contact point for our stakeholders. As a key leader within our operations team you will help drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring innovation and quality are central to the delivery of all services.

This is a unique opportunity to establish a new role at an exciting time for Severn Wye. In addition to career development, we offer employee benefits and pension. The Director of Delivery and Development will lead teams delivering services across our Gloucestershire or Wales region but regular travel will be required to all our offices and to remote workers based across Wales, so occasional weekend and overnight work will be required. European travel may also occasionally be required.
